The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Victoria) Inc.

The RSPCA (Victoria) is an independent, non-government, community based charity providing services for the prevention of cruelty to animals. The state headquarters in Burwood East and fifteen regional branches throughout Victoria provide a range of opportunities to promote the benefits of our relationships with animals.

There are education programs that aim to develop responsible and caring behaviour towards animals. Students of all ages are catered for and Education Officers present sessions throughout the state as well as in the Education Centre. This Centre features a collection of animals, state-of-the-art technology and interactive learning resources. Visitors can explore the world of animals using information modules and interactive learning resources. The auditorium enables audio-visual technology to examine veterinary surgery, biology and animal welfare. The rustic barn is stocked with companionable animals that allow up-close and hands-on experiences for visitors.

Programs for schools are curriculum based and cover responsible pet care and safety around animals for primary schools and there is a range of secondary level programs. School programs are provided free of charge. School holiday programs are very popular and community education programs on issues such as dog and cat training, dog adoption and horse care are also provided.
