The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ACT) Inc.

The Education section of the RSPCA (ACT) Inc. has programs that cater for a diverse range of audiences, from pre-school aged children to aged care residents. The RSPCA (ACT) Inc. has been giving talks to the public for some years now, but it is not generally known that we offer this service.
Talks can be prepared to incorporate a number of topics, ranging from general pet/wildlife care to animal welfare issues. The education programs are designed to fit in with the school curriculum, with particular relevance to the KLA (key learning area) of Studies of Society and Environment. I use a variety of information delivery methods, from videos to hands-on demonstrations and I usually bring along my dog, Merlin (pictured), for people to interact with. Sessions run for approximately half to one hour, depending on your needs.
I find that members of the public are very responsive to the talks and since a lot of them own pets, they can relate to and learn from each session. There is no charge for this service.
